Grant for club
THE Heytesbury Pony Club received a grant under Sporting Club Grants Program.
Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence announced last week 875 grants would go to more than 740 clubs, who will share in more than $1.2 million under the Sporting Club Grants Program.
These grants support clubs to purchase uniforms and equipment, upskill volunteers, coaches and officials, and improve their accessibility and engagement with local communities.
Locally, the Heytesbury Pony Club was successful in obtaining a grant under category one – on field uniforms or equipment.
To date the Sporting Club Grants Program has provided more than $18 million to thousands of community sport and recreation clubs across the state over the past decade.
The program is backed by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund which is delivering infrastructure upgrades and other programs including the Regional Community Sport Infrastructure Fund so more regional Victorians can get active and be part of their local sporting clubs.
“This is a major boost for clubs across the state – we’re making sure clubs have the skills and equipment they need to thrive, and get more people involved,” Ms Spence said.
“We want our local sporting clubs to be backing the next generation of local champions – and these grants provide them the chance to do just that.”
