Units responded to the incident at around 4pm on Saturday, March 3, where they encountered a 40 metre by 10 metre grass fire.

CFA District 6 commander Dan Condon said there were no injuries and no properties lost as a result of the fire.

“We put emergency warnings to alert the community, and the crews did an amazing job to pull up the fire and get onto it very quickly,” he said.

“Within half an hour, they were around it and had pulled it up.

“It was a standard little grassfire, and we believe it was started by a tractor.

“It was really good work by the local crews, particularly the Tesbury brigade who did a fantastic job allocating resources and making the right tactical decisions to get on top of that fire before it got any worse.”
