On Friday night they travelled to Colac to take on Apollo Bay and after an enthralling 100 ends of bowling, the Magpies came out on top, 93-84.

The rink of Brad Errock, Jamie Norton, Kel Rundle and Taj Merrett continued their fantastic form with a one shot win over Brad Allen’s rink, 21-20.

Luke Wright’s rink of David Batemen, Len Searle and James Henry held sway over Michael Harrison’s rink 29-21.

Matty Brewer’s rink of Ron Cameron, Barry Atchison and Jack Paasse were too good for Neil Welsh’s rink, winning 24-22.

Craig Skene’s rink of Chris Pearson, Paul Richards and Greg Teal just failed to make it a clean sweep of rinks, going down to Mark Featherston’s rink 19-21.

On Saturday the Magpies travelled to Simpson and once again a close match was witnessed.

The Magpies came home with a six shot win, 89-83, with the sides sharing the rinks two apiece.

Brad Errock’s rink of Jamie Norton, Darren Coverdale and Kel Arundle once again showed their class with a massive win over Leigh Mahoney’s rink, 40-10.

Matty Brewer’s rink of Ron Cameron, Barry Atchison and Kell Edwards went down to Kurt Wilson’s rink 17-24.

Craig Skene’s rink of Chris Pearson, Paul Richards and Greg Teal had a tough day going down to Scott Harris’s rink 10-31.

Luke Wright’s rink of David Batemen, Len Searle and James Henry completed the Magpies win, with a 22-18 win over Brian Clark’s rink.

The win leaves the Magpies undefeated after four rounds and with no game tomorrow due to the double header last weekend, the team can have a well-deserved rest.

The Magpies division two (2) team also continued its good form with a 12 shot win over City 2, 96-84.

Fred Salmon’s rink of Leanne Fitzgerald, John Molan and Greg Edwards won the last seven ends of their match against Pat Howard’s rink, 29-14.

Vicki Brebner’s rink of Graeme Chamberlain, John O’Donohue and Keira Johnston went down to Lynda Inglis’ rink 15-33.

Peter Reilly’s rink of Andrew Anderson, Greg Molan and Les Pearson hit form with a 14 shot win over Royden Copeland’s rink, 30-15.

Ian Henderson’s rink of Lud Gungl, Trey Darcy and Ron Simcox had the close one having a tie with Trevor Bartlett’s rink 22 shots each.

Tomorrow the undefeated division two (2) take on Cressy at home at Golf and a win would see them consolidate top spot on the ladder.

Michael Brebner (s), Vicki Brebner, John O’Donohue and Brad Wilson.

Darren Coverdale (s), John Molan, Keira Johnston and Kell Edwards.

The manager will be Vicki Brebner and duty team is Michael Brebner’s.

The Magpies division two (3) team travelled to Cobden and found the home team too strong, going down 68-117.

Stan Adeney’s rink of Algie White, Wayne Henry and Ray Bourke lost to Noah Mungean’s rink 18-25.

Darren Pages’ rink of Mark Winsall, John Salau and Nicolas Saligari battled hard all day to go down to Darren Mulgrew’s rink 21-28.

Kevin Russell’s rink of Tim Spokes, Pam Atchison and Noelene Tolland had a loss to Nick Kermp’s rink 15-30.

Tom Hose’s rink of Paul Halloran, Barney Dickson and Donna Watts went down to Michael Hickey’s rink 14-34.

Henry Henderson (s), Lud Gungl, Trey Darcy and Mick Mahony.

Chris McLeod (s), Kevin Russell, Wayne Henry and Nick Saligari.

G. Chamberlain (s), D. O’Donohue, Mark Winsall and Ron Simcox.

The manager will be Wayne Henry and Stan Adeney will drive the bus (leaving at 11am).

The Magpies division three team travelled to take on Colac City 3 and just failed to bring home a win, going down 74-79.

Peter James’ rink of Carol Wilson, Norma Weller and Pip Robertson went down to John Mills’ rink 22-26.

Ron Absalom’s rink of Max Rippon, Gary Mitchell and Sophie Pearson lost to John Neale’s rink 13-22.

Paul Brebner’s rink of Janet Molan, Gordon Weller and Jimmy Boyd played well all day to win over Graham Harris’ rink 20-11.

Tomorrow division three will be at home at Thornton Street to Birregurra who are undefeated after three rounds.

However, with a full contingent of players to chose from this week, the Magpies are capable of causing an upset.

Division three teams for tomorrow at Thornton Street are:

Tom Hose (s), Paul Halloran, Peter James and Donna Watts.

Darren Page (s), Steve Lucas, Brent Noonan and Pip Robertson.

Paul Brebner (s), Janet Molan, Barney Dickson and Bert Sloetjes.

The Magpies were unable to field a division four team last Saturday and tomorrow will have the bye.

Congratulations to Kell Edwards and Keira Johnston who, along with Beth Nelson from Colac, won the CPA Women’s Triples Championship last Sunday at Colac Bowling Club.

The ladies played the strong team of Rebecca McMahon, Hayley Murnane and Jodie Bertram and secured the win with some magnificent bowling, 15-12.

Good luck to the Magpies’ Chris Pearson who, along with Brian Finn and Shawn Ballagh from Colac Central, will play in the men’s CPA Triples Championship semi-final on Sunday at Colac.

Good luck to everyone representing the Camperdown Magpies tomorrow.
