Green wins at Cobden

TWENTY-six players contested round one of the Frank Hodgson Aggregate Pairs at Cobden Golf Club last Saturday.


H. Green finished on 40 points to take A grade from J. Reed on 38, on countback from S. Rix and C. Dobson.

B grade was won by R. Giblett on 40 points with A. Stevens runner-up on 38 points, on countback from J. Green.

Balls down the line: S. Rix, C. Dobson, J. Green, S. Tupene and Lachie Green.

Nearest the pin on the 4th was J. Reed, 7th C. Cobbledick, 10th B. Cook, second on the 2nd S. Tupene and second on the 14th J. Reed.

Leaders after round one of the Hodgson aggregate pairs are J. Green and C. Cobbledick 67, from A. Stevens and B. McSween 66, with A. Holster and A. Giles third on 66.

This week, March 23, will be round two of the aggregate pairs.

In the ladies’ competition, 16 players participated in the monthly medal, silver spoon and Barrett Shield played on March 6.

A grade winner – Janine Steven 70 nett, runner-up Ellen Darcy 74 nett.

B grade winner – Ev Boyd 65 nett, runner-up Di McKenzie 68 nett.

Monthly medal winner was Ev Boyd.

Putting winner was Di McKenzie with 49 putts.

Nearest the pins: A grade Ellen Darcy (4th hole), B grade Carmel Darcy (4th hole) and Jeannine White (10th hole), C grade Ev Boyd (4th hole) and Jo Hintum (10th hole).

Nearest the pins: second shot Di Adams (A grade), Judy Myers (B grade).

Balls down the line winner was Judy Myers with 74.

Eighteen competitors took to the course for the Joan Jacka 4BBB stroke last Wednesday.

Winners were Ellen Darcy and Pat Tickner with 62 points from runners-up Di McKenzie and Carmel Darcy with 64 points.
