Hanks leads the way
ABBIE Hanks continued her impressive bowling form this summer with a five-wicket haul against Mortlake last Friday night.
Cobden’s Abbie Hanks is having a great season with the ball.
Hanks, who now leads the wicket tally in the Warrnambool Moyne District Cricket Association women’s competition, brought her number to 18 after a strong performance with the ball last week.
Hanks was formidable with the ball and finished Friday night’s match with figures of 5/5 from 3.4 overs.
She was well supported at the crease by team-mates Charlotte Meade with 2/8 from three overs, Rachel O’Keeffe 1/6 and Leah Dickson 1/13.
Batting first, Mortlake was restricted to just 51 runs for the match.
In reply, Cobden reached 1/53 in the ninth over.
Anna Dickson retired on 17, opener Jessica Walsh reached 16 while Hanks contributed four and Mikayla Hein was unbeaten on two.
