Harness racing returns to Terang

HARNESS racing action returned to the Terang track last Saturday night much to the delight of drivers, owners and spectators.

After a warm day, the cooler conditions were welcomed as those trackside enjoyed a full program of events.

Included among the nine races on the evening’s program were the running of the Pacing Cup and Trotters Cup along with the Pat Bellman Memorial Pace.

Results from the night were as follows:

Race 1, Neville and Patsy Clarke Memorial – 1st Oorah (trained and driven by Matthew Craven), 2nd Direct Command (trainer Greg Norman, driver Kerryn Manning), 3rd Dance Away (Amy Day).

Race 2, Pat Bellman Memorial Pace – 1st Morvah (Ash Warton/James Herbertson), 2nd Royal Division (Paddy Lee/Glen Craven), 3rd Quiet Storm (Xavier Connor/Jason Lee).

Race 3, Ridleys 2 Lifetime Win Trot – 1st Amigos (Lisa Pitt/Mark Pitt), 2nd Fredrhys (Barry Beasley/Jackie Barker), 3rd Kyvalley Anthony (Brent Lilley/Chris Alford).

Race 4, Greavesy’s Fruit and Veg Trot – 1st Naked truth (Alison Alford/Chris Alford), 2nd Kyvalle Picasso (Brent Lilley/Tristan Larsen), 3rd Brown Eyed Kate (John Meade/Paddy Meade).

Race 5, Terang Co-op Terang Pacing Cup – 1st Jilliby Willow (Margaret Lee/Jason Lee), 2nd Fides (Matthew Craven), 3rd Springfield Affair (Kevin Von Duve/Lochie Cook).

Race 6, Morsebearings Terang Trotters Cup – 1st Keayang Chucky (Paddy Lee/Glen Craven), 2nd Keayang Ignite (Paddy Lee/Jason Lee), 3rd Keayang Xena (Paddy Lee/Lochie Cook).

Race 7, Mt Noorat Freighters Pace – 1st Major Thinker (Lisa Pitt), 2nd Cemetery Bay (Alex Ashweood/Tayla French), 3rd Alby Two Chains (Taylor Nicholson/Zac Phillips).

Race 8, APG Pace – 1st Modern Bliss (Ash Warton/Annalise Scott), 2nd Delightful Major (Tayla Nicholson/Zac Phillips), 3rd Rosarito Miss (Tindale/Jordan Leedham).

Race 9, Terang Coop Ruyral Store 3YO Maiden Pace – 1st Best Deal (Emma Stewart/Mark Pitt), 2nd Beat Sweet (Jaimie-Lee King/Jason Lee), 3rd Dougs Flame (Geoff Webster/Chris Alford).
