TMHS staff will be hosting two listening posts this month as part of the process to complete the upcoming TMHS Strategic Plan.

There will be two listening post sessions held, one in Mortlake and one in Terang.

The first listening post will be held in Terang on Thursday, April 16 from 1pm-3pm outside the Terang Supa IGA.

The second will be held the following week in Mortlake on Thursday, April 23 outside Bates IGA from 10am-12noon.

Feedback and ideas will be sought under three broad questions which will encourage the community to share their thoughts on what is working well, what could be done better and what matters for the future of the region’s healthcare.

TMHS chief executive officer Julia Ogdin said she was looking forward to seeing the responses from the community, which would be collated anonymously.

“Health is heading into an exciting era in the south west, with close alignment with other health services and a collective aim being to provide care that is person-centred and timely,” she said.

“Without a community voice, it can be a case of health services assuming what they think they know.

“Stakeholder engagement assists in guiding health service planning so that it is relevant and highly reflective of the community that it serves.”

Where community members have specific current service queries or issues, the TMHS staff member will record their details for timely and appropriate feedback by the best relevant staff member.

Anyone unable to attend the listening post sessions who would like to provide feedback was encouraged to visit one of the three campuses, both Terang and Mortlake hospitals and the Josie Black Community Health Centre, to speak with staff.

Alternatively, TMHS can be e-mailed under the subject heading ‘Our New Plan’ at info@tmhs.vic.gov.au.
