Healey's win at Cobden Golf

SHERINE and Tim Healey have dominated at Cobden Golf Club’s P and B Austin Mixed Pinehurst event last Saturday.

The Healey’s finished with a net score of 66.5 to win A grade from runners-up C. Darcy and D. Absalom on 67.375.

Thirty-one players enjoyed the day.

Balls down the line went to D. McKenzie, S. Dawson, J. Walker, D. Adams, R. Alexander, K. Duffin and C. Horan.

In D grade, C. Darcy was nearest the pin on the fourth and D. Ferrari on the seventh for the ladies, and for the men, S. Dawson and B. Bourke were nearest on those holes.

A reminder to all players that this Friday’s Australia Day competition will be a two-person ambrose with a 9am shotgun start.

A par competition will be played on Saturday.

The Cobden ladies resumed their golf competition for the year on Wednesday, January 3 with a stableford event.

This was won by Judy Myers on 39 points from runner-up Carmel Darcy on 38.

Nearest the pins: B grade – 4th Rhonda Alexander, 10th Pat Tickner; C grade – 4th Judy Myers.

Nearest the pin on the Camperdown Premix 7th hole was Carmel Darcy and Rhonda Alexander (37 points) won balls down the line.

On January 10, 11 players enjoyed a stroke, medal and putting event.

This was won by Ellen Darcy (the monthly medal winner) on 90-20-70.

The runner-up was Di McKenzie 99-28-71.

Nearest the pins: A grade – 10th Janine Stevens; B grade – 4th Pat Tickner, 10th Rhonda Alexander; C grade – 4th Marie Smith.

Nearest the pin on the Camperdown Premix 7th was Deb Ferrari and nearest on the second shot on the eighth was Di Adams.

Balls down the line: Marie Smith 108-36-72.

The putting winners were Deb Ferrari and Di Adams, both with 30 points.

On Wednesday, January 17 a 4BBB competition attracted 11 players.

This was won by Deb Ferrari and Jo Hintum on 61 nett followed by Marie Smith and Pat Tickner on 67.

Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th and 10th Di Adams; B grade – 4th Jeannine White; C grade – 4th Kate Parlour, 10th Jo Hintum.

Nearest the pin on the seventh was Sherine Healey and the second shot on the eighth went to Di Adams in A grade.

Balls down the line: Sherine Healey and Janine Stevens on 67 points.
