Healey takes A grade
FIFTEEN ladies contested the Betty Rix qualifying round at Cobden golf last Wednesday.
Sherine Healey won A grade with a score of 70, followed by Janine Stevens on 72.
B grade was won by Pat Tickner on 64, followed by Marie Smith on 67.
Nearest the pins: A grade – Janine Stevens; B grade – Deb Ferrari (7th) and Jeannine White (10th); C grade – Marie Smith.
Nearest the pin on the 8th was Di Adams while the second shot on the 8th went to Sherine Healey in A grade.
Balls down the line: Ellen Darcy (on countback) 72, Jeannine White 71 and Carmel Darcy 70.
The monthly medal and putting competition – and round two of the Summer Cup – was played last Saturday.
Thirty-three players enjoyed the day, with D. Bath winning A grade on 66 net followed by C. Elsum on 68 and D. Absalom 68 on countback.
B grade was won by J. Beard on 62 followed by L. Robertson 63.
Nearest the pin: 4th S. Mason, 7th A. Stevens, 10th D. Lamb, second on the second J. Berard and second on the 14th J. Reed.
The monthly medal went to J. Beard on 62 with S. Rix winning the putting with 24.
Balls down the line: D. Absalom, J. Reed, M. Loving, C. Horan, B.Bourke, D. Jopling and D. Lamb.
The top five after round two of the summer cup are J. Beard 138 net, D. Bath 139, A. Giles 143, D. Beard 145 and J. Rix 145.
This week, Saturday February 10, is the privilege pot with a shotgun start at 10.30am for 11am tee-off.
