Healey wins ladies' championship
SHERINE Healey has won the A grade Wednesday golf ladies’ championship at the Cobden Golf Club.
Healey took out the A grade win on 263 strokes after recently completing the third and final round.
The A grade runner-up was Ellen Darcy on 280 strokes.
B grade was won by Carmel Darcy on 298 strokes, followed by runner-up Pat Tickner on 302 strokes.
The winner of the daily stroke competition was Chloe Healey with 69 net followed by Pat Ticker on 74 nett.
Nearest the pins: A grade – 4th Ellen Darcy, 10th Janine Stevens; B grade – 4th Deb Ferrari, 10th Chloe Healey; C grade – 4th and 10th Ev Boyd.
Nearest the pin on the 7th was Sherine Healey and second shot on the 8th (C Grade) was Ev Boyd.
Balls down the line went to Sherine Healey 74 net and Judy Myers 75 net.
Last Saturday’s round three of club championships (monthly medal) saw 33 players take to the course.
D. Beard won A grade with net 71, followed by S. Rix net 73 on countback from A. Couch.
B grade was won by G. Birnie net 70 from J. Beard net 72.
M. Drayton won C grade with net 68 followed by runner-up F. Bosch on net 72.
Nearest the pins: 4th A. Giles, 7th M. Darcy, 10th L. Robertson, closest second on the 2nd M. Drayton and closest on the 14th D. Oakley.
The monthly medal went to M. Drayton on net 68.
Balls down the line: G. Davis, A. Couch, B. Welsby, A. Giles, M. Katsaros, L. Robertson and C. Elsum.
In the monthly play, G. Davis defeated K. Duffin 7-5.
This Saturday, December 7, will be the final round of the club championships and privilege pot.
