Health service to host women's day celebration
TERANG and Mortlake Health Service has unveiled plans to celebrate International Women’s Day this year with a special appearance from an Olympic medallist.
The community has been invited to attend a morning tea to celebrate International Women’s Day, hosted at the Little Acorn Café in Terang from 10am to 12noon on Wednesday, March 5.
Terang and Mortlake Health Service health promotion officer Michelle Dowden said local Olympic medallist, Bookar’s Penny Smith, would be this year’s special guest speaker.
“We are thrilled to announce our guest speaker, Penny Smith, an Olympic medallist who has achieved remarkable success in a traditionally male-dominated sport,” she said.
“Her story is an inspiring testament to breaking barriers and advancing women's achievements.
“Terang and Mortlake Health Service is proud to host this special gathering to celebrate International Women’s Day.
“This year’s theme, ‘Accelerate Action,’ emphasizes the importance of striving for full gender equality.
“Come and be part of this celebration of International Women’s Day and honour a local success story on Wednesday, March 5. We look forward to seeing you there.”
