Help sought for structure plan

COMMUNITY representatives are being sought to help develop structure plans for Camperdown.

A project working group is being established in order to develop the plan - with the group to be chaired by a ward councillor and supported by Corangamite Shire staff.

Participation is likely to involve approximately four to five meetings until mid-2025.

The first meeting will be on Wednesday, November 27, in the afternoon/evening.

Corangamite Shire director sustainable development Justine Linley said council was committed to supporting the town’s future.

“Council is committed to supporting the future of Camperdown by creating a sustainable community, developing a vision and strategic direction for land-use in the town – called a Structure Plan,” she said.

“We are seeking community representatives to provide input and advice and assist in the decision making throughout the project.

“They will help us answer questions like what do we value most about our town and our community, what do we need to do to support future growth and development over the next 15-20-years and what do we need to change and what do we need to protect?

“A Structure Plan for the town will enable us to capitalise on development opportunities and provide clear direction on sustainable growth and investment attraction.

“It will direct and promote residential growth, protect both the landscape, environment and neighbourhood characters, and plan for the growth of commercial, industrial and tourism opportunities.”

Expressions of interest can be made until 4pm on Wednesday, November 6 at corangamite.vic.gov.au/EoICamperdown.
