Helping grain growers raise research priorities
AN UPCOMING grain grower forum in Derrinallum will allow growers and advisers to bring local issues and priorities to the Grains Research and Development Corporation’s (GRDC) attention.

The meeting is part of GRDC’s National Grower Network (NGN) Forum program, the ‘front door’ for growers and advisers to engage with GRDC.
GRDC grower relations manager – south Rebekah Starick said each event was an important opportunity for growers to meet with peers, brainstorm the issues which affect crop production locally, share them with the GRDC team and be updated on progress from past investments.
The forum will also include an update on current GRDC activities to help keep growers informed of GRDC’s diverse regional and national projects, along with a special presentation on a topic of local interest and relevance.
“We are pleased to be hosting Professor Chris Preston from Adelaide University as our guest speaker at the Derrinallum meeting,” Ms Starick said.
“Chris will speak about pre-season weed management and herbicide resistance. It promises to be a very useful presentation.”
