Heytesbury House history
HEYTESBURY House owners Kathryn and Andrew Stubbings are preparing to mark a special milestone later this year.
The historic home will be turning 120 in November this year, and the couple are hoping to commemorate the occasion.
While now a luxury bed and breakfast, Heytebury House was once a doctor’s residence and later a local bush hospital.
Mrs Stubbings has called on residents who might have pictures, memorabilia and stories to share to get in touch.
“We’re looking to garner as much history as we can,” she said.
“If people have any photos or documents, we can make copies.
“I’m hoping to publish a little book to be held in the house and at the Cobden Historical Society.”
Since purchasing the house, the couple have meticulously restored Heytesbury House, with the home’s history proudly displayed throughout.
Mrs Stubbings said the couple were “excited to be able to celebrate the milestone”.
“Heytesbury House has historical significance for locals,” she said.
“It’s important that the stories are not lost. It helps to tell the story of Cobden.”
Residents who would like to make a contribution or share their story were asked to contact Kathryn and Andrew Stubbings on 5595 1800 or email enquiries@heytesburyhouse.com.au.
