Heytesbury House makes golden list
COBDEN’S iconic Heytesbury House bed and breakfast has been named in this year’s Star Ratings Australia gold list of hosted accommodation.

Owners Kathryn and Andrew Stubbings have been running the business for 15 years and said they couldn’t be happier with the outcome, which demonstrates their dedication to providing a positive experience for their guests.
“Neither of us had any hospitality experience at all before we came here,” Mrs Stubbings said.
“Andrew was a landscaper and I was a bookkeeper, but we both loved entertaining and thought this was a great way to have a nice quiet country existence.
“It’s turned out to be an amazing journey.”
Mrs Stubbings said they were honoured to find out they had made the list.
“We received an email from the Quality Tourism Framework – which is handled by Victorian Tourism Industry Council – and the gold list is exclusive to star rated properties and recognises those properties that have achieved the highest travellers’ rating,” she said.
“They use a ReviewPro guest intelligence solution which collates all reviews online over every platform around the world.
“Making it to the gold list, what it demonstrates is our commitment to consistently exceeding our guests’ expectations.
“It’s an absolute honour, it really is.
“We have fabulous guests who come from all sorts of parts of the world and backgrounds and it’s really heart-warming to get the response from them that they have enjoyed their experience so much to give it such a high rating.”
Heytesbury House is currently on the market, with Mr and Mrs Stubbings seeking to pass on their experience to someone new.
“It is still up for sale and we’re waiting for the right person to come along and fall in love with it as much as we did,” Mrs Stubbings said.
“It’s a fabulous opportunity for someone.
“We can’t rate highly enough the experience we’ve had doing it.
“Owning this business has brought us into an incredible community and that is what has been the true joy of this experience.”
