Heytesbury Show draws a crowd
THE Heytesbury Agricultural Show drew a crowd over the weekend in a celebration of the region’s agricultural prosperity.

The Simpson Recreation Reserve was a hive of activity on Saturday as hundreds came out to enjoy show day.
The festivities were headlined by a pet parade, showbags, show and shine event with rare and unique vehicles, the opportunity to build tractors from trash and, of course, dairy cattle, sheep, horses and homecraft competitions.
Heytesbury Agricultural Society secretary and chief steward for the homecraft pavilion Sue Stevens said the dedicated band of volunteers were thrilled with the success of the day.
“It went really well – everyone involved is pleased,” she said.
“We had a big crowd with plenty of trade stands and plenty of entries in the homecraft pavilion.
“It was great to see so many new entrants exhibiting, and the courses, the cattle and sheep were really well prescribed.
“We also had our first ever goat show, so from our point of view it went off very smoothly despite drawing such a good crowd, which saw the reserve quite full and busy.”
