Heytesbury Show returns
THE highly-anticipated Heytesbury Agricultural Show will return next Saturday, February 28 as attendees from across the district flock to the Simpson Recreation Reserve for a fun day out with family and friends.

There will be a lot on offer this year, with something new taking place to shake things up.
“Something new this year, happening for the first time, is the Guernsey Cattle association, it’s called the guernsey world tour –people are travelling around to shows to see guernsey cattle,” Heytesbury Show committee secretary Sue Stevens said.
“We’re having the guernsey cattle as the feature event this year.
“We know that there’s people coming especially to see them so that’s a bit exciting for us to be on the world tour.”
On the agenda will be all the show favourites back again to take the centre stage.
“There’s sheep judging again this year, horse events, show jumping and there’s the homecraft pavilion so people that do craft like cooking, sewing, painting and floral art,” Mrs Stevens said,
“There’s the show and shine for people with their classic cars and we’ve got lots of events for children – we’ve got Wildlife Xposure with their reptiles.
“There’s inflatables for the kids to play on and free face painting and balloon twisting.
“We’ve got 50 plus trade stands ranging from all sorts like tractors and machinery to home crafts like sewing, a whole range of things.
“We also have our mystery showbags which is always very popular – there’s an increase in the amount of people wanting to donate to that too so it’ll be big this year.”
Mrs Stevens said the show was a great opportunity for the community to come together and hoped to see many familiar faces on the day.
“I think the show is a good day, it brings the community together,” she said,
“It brings a wide variety of people such as the horse people and the cattle people – it brings the local community together and the wider community to Heytesbury which is a good thing.”
