High rainfall for Mortlake, Terang
THE region experienced rainfall above the long-term average during February with heavy rainfall hitting the region at the beginning and end of the month.

Mortlake experienced 59.4mm during February, surpassing the long-term monthly average of 32.1mm.
The highest daily rainfall occurred on February 3 and 26, with 21mm being recorded on both dates.
The figure surpassed the 2mm experienced in February 2022, and brings the total rainfall on the year to 74.1mm, above the 68.1mm long-term expected average over the same period.
Meanwhile in Terang, 81.8mm of rain hit the ground during the month.
The figure surpassed the long-term monthly average of 37.3mm, with the highest daily rainfall occurring on February 3 with 29mm falling.
The figure surpassed the 2.4mm during the same month in February 2022.
The wet February brings the total for 2023 so far to 94.4mm, above the long-term expected average of 76.9mm.
Rainfall throughout summer remained consistent with the long-term average for the season.
Mortlake experienced 112.4mm, slightly above the 107.5mm long-term summer average.
In Terang, 136mm of rain fell during the season; above the average of 126.7mm.
