The championships were held across the Footscray Hockey Club and Parkville State Netball and Hockey Centre over the winter school holidays.

Corangamite’s representatives trained intensively in Warrnambool and Ballarat in preparation for the tournament, and their hard work paid off with strong performances across multiple age groups.

In a standout achievement, Mateo Boyd (playing Hockey 5s in the under 12 competition) and his team-mates placed ninth overall – the highest ranking ever achieved by a West Vic Eagles’ boys under 12 team.

Noah Boyd competed in the under 13 division, while Maisie Cunningham and Harmoney Bishop took to the field for the girls’ team.

Both teams performed well, and for Harmoney the tournament marked a turning point as she discovered her passion for goalkeeping (and embraced the role with enthusiasm).

The under 16 girls’ team featured three Corangamite players – Ava Cunningham, Taliyah Bishop and Akeisha Bishop.

Their commitment and teamwork added to the strength of the squad throughout the competition.

Corangamite Hockey Club was extremely proud of its athletes’ efforts and thanked all families whose support made participation possible.

Harmoney Bishop was also selected for specialist goalie academy training.

Noah Boyd was chosen for the emerging talent academy.

The club congratulates all seven players on their achievements and wishes them well in their future sporting endeavours.
