Hockey season returns
PERFECT weather conditions greeted players, officials and supporters for the first Saturday of hockey in Camperdown last weekend.
The first game saw Green take on Blue, with Green taking the win.
James, Hayley and Aaron scored for Green and Mason scored for Blue.
The second game of the day saw Yellow take on Purple with the game ending in a draw.
Anastasia scored for Yellow and Oliver scored for purple.
All players put in a great performance, getting to know their teams, team-mates and coaches.
Hooked 2 Hockey also returned for the new season, and it was great to see some new faces and lots of smiles while they learned new skills and had lots of fun.
The under 15s had their first game for the season in Warrnambool.
The team came home with a win against Mariners 5-3.
A great game, with the team’s experienced players leading the younger new players in the team.
Oliver Eagle was awarded the You Rock award for a consistent game, working hard to get amongst the play and contributing where he could.
The under 18s played their second game on Friday night in Warrnambool where they took on Strikers.
The play was mostly in Camperdown’s favour and the Lakers celebrated a 2-0 win.
This week’s You Rock award went to Oliver Clark for scoring two goals.
Honourable mentions go to Ava and Jonah for their consistency and never ending tenacity to win the ball or get it back from a turn over.
The first week’s You Rock award went to Quinn Clark for his efforts in goals.
The honourable mention from the first round goes to Tavish McDonald for a great save in defence.
