Police responded to multiple Triple Zero calls reporting a car had crashed into a family home on High Street at about 3am.

Officers from Warrnambool and Camperdown arrived at the property to find the alleged driver still on scene.

Victoria Police stated the alleged driver was uninjured.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson confirmed Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics had attended the scene, with one person – believed to have been a passenger in the car – transported to hospital.

“A teenage girl was transported by road ambulance to Warrnambool Hospital in a stable condition with an upper body injury,” the spokesperson said.

There have been reports none of the occupants of the home were injured, but Western District Newspapers understands this was not the case.

Police will allege the driver – a 19-year-old Boorcan man holding a probationary licence – provided an evidentiary breath test reading of 0.132.

His licence was immediately suspended and he is expected to be charged on summons with driving and drink-driving offences.

The house sustained extensive damage requiring a building assessor to attend.

Police were out and about in force over the long weekend as part of Operation Amity – a state-wide road policing operation in an effort to reduce road trauma, targeting impaired driving, speed, fatigue and distraction offences.
