Homegrown talent wins the Binnie Barclay
A HOMEGROWN talent has made history to claim victory in an iconic showjumping event.

The Western Victoria Showjumping Championships, held over the March 7-9 long weekend, attracted some of the best riders from western Victoria and beyond.
Caramut Riding Club president Leah Teal said the championships, the club’s biggest annual event, ran without a hitch.
She praised the talent of the riders on display, particularly in the signature event, the Binnie Barclay Grand Prix, which saw its first local winner.
“There was an excellent calibre of riders,” she said.
“In the Binnie Barclay Grand Prix we had Jess Pateman come in second with Celso, who won equal first last year and have been previous winners.
“Tim Clarke and his horse, Kanntango, won this year – it is a horse Tim has bred and brought along himself, out of a mare Tim jumped at a world level called Caltango.
“It is special for a homebred mare to be brought up, and is really starting to excel at the 1.45m level.
“Tim grew up near Mortlake so to have a local competitor take out the class for the first time was really good.”
