Hub opens for Timboon 150 celebrations
IN the lead up to Timboon 150 celebrations next year, volunteers have opened a hub for everything Timboon 150 related.
Timboon 150 publicity officer Corry Kerr said the hub, located next to the Timboon Post Office, will be open each Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10am to 2pm.
She said the opening days would be dependent on the availability of volunteers.
“The community can come in and enquire about what is happening with the 150 celebrations or volunteer for the weekend,” Ms Kerr said.
“Pick up an expression of interest form for the parade, and/or book tickets for the cabaret.
“There has been a lot of interest in the cabaret so get in early or you may miss out.
“Music from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80, 2000’s and beyond. We would love to see you there, dressed in period costume for the occasion.”
Locals are invited to bring in memorabilia to the hub to be shared for the display across the celebrations, as well as lodge items for the time capsule.
“Drop in and say hello to the friendly volunteers and find out more about the celebrations,” Ms Kerr said.
“The program for the weekend has been set.”
