In memory of a true champion
Few runners have been as dominant in the Terang and District Lions Club’s Noorat to Terang Fun Run and Walk as Judy McDowall.

FEW runners have been as dominant in the Terang and District Lions Club’s Noorat to Terang Fun Run and Walk as Judy McDowall.
McDowall won the event 12 times, including seven times in succession, and still holds the female record of 20:02, which she set in 1992.
McDowall competed regularly in the Melbourne Marathon, and her successes in that event qualified her to represent Australia in international marathons at locations such as Long Beach, California,
Rotorua, New Zealand, and Osaka, Japan.
McDowall’s other achievements included winning the Warrnambool Surf to Surf run six years in a row, and finishing first in the Koroit to Warrnambool half-marathon six times.
McDowall passed away in 2009, and since 2010 the Terang Lions Club has awarded the first female runner home in the Noorat to Terang the Judy McDowall Memorial trophy in honour of the celebrated runner.
For the anniversary of the Fun Run’s 40th iteration, Judy’s sister Margaret Moloney will be attending the event to represent her legacy.
The event is open to any and all participants, regardless of ability, and entries must be made online at https://www.trybooking.com/BXBYD.
