Indoor bowls action
ROUND five of the Heytesbury Indoor Bias Bowls Association competition provided continued action this week.
Division one saw the previously unbeaten Timboon Lawn 1 go down to Mepunga 1,Timboon Lawn 2 defeat Scotts Creek 1, Laang-Ecklin clinching victory over Camperdown 1 and Glenormiston 1 come back from six down two ends to go to draw Camperdown 2.
The top four this week in Division one are: Timboon Lawn 1, Mepunga 1, Camperdown 2 and Timboon Lawn 2.
Division two saw Mepunga 2 went down to Cobden 1, Simpson 1 went down to Cobden 2, Glenormiston 2 defeated Glenormiston 3 and Timboon Lawn 3 went down to Timboon Lawn 4.
The top four for Division 2 this week are: Cobden 1, Timboon Lawn 4, Mepunga 2 and Glenormiston 2.
In Division three, Camperdown 3 had the bye and Scotts Creek 3 defeated Glenormiston 4, Cobden 3 defeated Peterborough and Mepunga 3 narrowly defeated Scotts Creek 2.
The top four in Division 3 are: Mepunga 3, Scotts Creek 3, Camperdown 3 and Cobden 3, Camperdown 3 and Cobden 3.
The 2024 Ballarat Intergroup side has been picked for the King’s Birthday weekend in June:
Singles - Men: Arthur Finch; Womens: Bec Heard.
Pairs - mens: Brett Mungean (s), Scott Pierce; womens: Pam Wines (s) Lara Mungean; Mixed: Allen Armistead (s), Pam Dwyer.
Triples - mens: Fred Salmon (s), Ron Heard, Ray Bond; womens: Joyce Roberts (s), Deb Noonan, Roelie Maslin.
Fours - mens: Ron Absalom (s), Gary Langenhuizen, Neville Page, Jim Mungean; womens: Maureen Bond(s), Jean Clover, Val Blake, Marlene Page; Mixed: George Fox (s), Les Pearson, Doreen Coverdale, Cherie Mungean.
Managers: Max Wines and Rita Mungean.
