Inspirational speakers
UNIVERSITY of the Third Age (U3A) Corangamite members heard from two inspirational speakers as part of the ‘Travel Tales’ program.

Member Gary Kimber said speakers Alison and Sophie Goldsworthy had travelled with northern Kenya as part of a program to aid families in the area of birthing as well as general health.
“They were in a small village of Yala which had a hospital which could best be described as archaic,” he said.
“Both ladies assisted with births, medical visits and dealing with a huge percentage of patients who had AIDS.
“This made their task incredibly challenging, yet so important to the poor people of this village.”
Mr Kimber said the pair found their task “amazingly challenging, yet so important” to the people of the village.
“They found the villagers to be amazingly thankful for their support and were truly moved with what they had to deal with,” he said.
“Alison and Sophie were thanked for their incredible dedication to this task and answered many questions.”
