International signing for Tigers

SIMPSON Cricket Club, who has aspirations to move up into division one of the Colac District Cricket Association, has announced Ben Smith as an international signing ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 22 year-old top order batsman hails from the West Herts Cricket Club in Hertfordshire.

Playing for Southampton University in the 2024 English season, Smith scored 664 runs at an average of 39.06.

Also an off-spin bowler, Smith took 15 wickets in 2024.

Smith has a coaching accreditation, has served as Head of Performance at the University of Southampton and will contribute to the Tigers in a coaching role.
