Investigations underway following fatality

VICTORIA Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatality in Skipton last Thursday night.


A Victoria Police spokesperson said two people died in the crash, with the Major Collision Investigation Unit investigating.

“It is understood a utility rolled just off Banongil Road, near the intersection of Glenelg Highway, about 11.40pm,” the spokesperson said.

“Emergency services worked on two of the male occupants, but they sadly died at the scene.

“The male driver of the utility sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

“Police are working to establish the circumstances of the crash and the investigation remains ongoing.”

At the time of publication, 25 lives have been lost on Victorian roads this year.

This is a decrease on the number of lives lost this time last year, where 38 lives were lost.
