Junior cyclists dress up
CAMPERDOWN junior cyclists enjoyed the opportunity to dress up as their favourite cyclist or famous rider last week.

An amazing run of warm, sunny days has allowed the Camperdown Cycling Club to hold many races this season.
The dress-up competition was enjoyed by the majority, with Rieley winning the event dressed as the modern Grace Brown.
Second went to Quinn who wore the famous Simon Gerran’s top while third was Lawson in the yellow club top (with an added black swan in memory of his late great uncle Lawrence ‘Spin’ Clark).
Spin was an up-and-coming rider for the club who was tragically killed in his late teens.
Many of the club’s older riders would have remembered the Spin Clark Memorial which was ran in several different forms over the years.
Oliver dressed as Miguel Indurain in his winter top while Nathaniel dressed as club president Matt Clark.
Matt has encouraged Nathaniel over the last few years and provided great inspiration.
Ava and Thea dressed as the younger Grace Brown in the Bike Exchange team colours.
It was an exciting night on the roads for the 19th race of the season.
The right conditions saw many riders record personal bests, while others fell short by only a few seconds.
The biggest personal best times to be broken came from scratch riders Oliver and Josh who worked well together.
Josh was first over the line by two seconds, taking 18 seconds off his personal best, while Oliver reduced his by 20 seconds.
Congratulations also to Finn who has through the nine-minute mark with a blistering time of 8.57 – a golden ride from the Timboon champ.
Izzy was the winner on the night and after listening to her senior rider throughout the duration, she took one minute off her personal best.
Second went to Lawson in 11.49, followed by Henry 12.20.
Other riders were Josh 8.30, Oliver 8.32, Finn 8.57, Zane 9.24, Finny 15.16, Rieley 12.04, Thea 10.51, Quinn 9.58, Ava 10.59 and Nathaniel 10.44.
Well done to Lawson, Zane, Quinn and Nathaniel who were less than three seconds off their personal best.
This week is the Harold Lamb Trophy week.
In the seniors race last Thursday evening, a strong easterly wind made for fast conditions around the back of the racecourse and a more difficult finish up the hill.
Josh came out on top, claiming first place in 26.07, just ahead of Sean Thompson.
Todd Baxter finished third, with a gap to Finn Baxter and Matt Clark.
