Junior fishing comp nets winners

YOUNGSTERS headed to the Simpson Dams recently for a spot of fishing.
The Simpson and District Lions Club held a junior fishing competition, according to club president Russ Davis.
“Despite some cool weather about a dozen keen kids turned up with rods and tackle to try their luck for trout or redfin,” he said.
“Throughout the morning the fishers and families were sustained with grapes, a sausage sizzle, lollies and a cool drink served by Lions members.
“The highlight of the day had to be second prize being awarded to three year-old Sophie, who was the youngest attendee and participant.”
