Juniors head to finals

LISMORE is now out of finals contention after a four wicket loss to Lexton in round 16 of the Grenville Cricket Association senior competition.


Batting first at the Lismore Recreation Reserve, the home team could only manage to make 79 in 29.2 overs.

Lachie Constable top scored with 17 from 39 balls, with Lachlan Coutts making 16 from 23.

Lexton lost six wickets but passed the score in the 18th over.

Jonte Jarred led the Lismore bowling with 4/18 from five overs, with Hayden Brett and Lachlan Coutts picking up a wicket each.

Tomorrow Lismore will play its final game of the season against Linton at Linton.

In the under 16s, Lismore had a win over Linton at Lismore.

Linton made 4/92 batting first, with Breanna Daffy taking two wickets.

Lismore replied with 2/100 from its 25 overs.

Daffy top scored with 21 not out from 32 balls, with Bailey Childs making 17 and Jack Fay 14.

The two teams will meet again in tomorrow morning’s semi-final.

In the under 12s, Lismore had a 14 run loss at Rokewood.

The home team made 128 from its 20 overs, Liam Barr leading the Lismore bowlers with 2/6 from two overs.

Lismore replied with 114, Josh McConachy top scoring with 13 and Andrew Wylie making 11.

In tonight’s under 12 semi-final, Lismore will play Derrinallum at Derrinallum.
