Kelpies expand over region
HUNDREDS of yard signs have begun to emerge on the lawns of locals around the federal seat of Wannon in support of community Independent candidate Alex Dyson.

Mr Dyson said he was thrilled with the number of local volunteers from all across Wannon who had signed on to help out with the campaign including installing a corflute at their home.
“It’s just been incredible,” he said.
“For a people-powered campaign, we’ve been hugely successful so far in getting the word out and having people rethink their old voting habits and choosing to vote for a community independent this time.
“We started with the orange kelpies with people installing them in their front yards or windows, kicking off great conversations.
“The kelpie is local, hard-working and energetic, which makes it a great mascot for our grassroots campaign.”
Mr Dyson said he was inspired by the successful Indi campaigns which saw Cathy McGowan and Helen Haines win and hold the north east Victorian seat.
“They’ve been successful in securing much needed local infrastructure from Canberra following independent community campaigns,” he said.
“Last election our community movement made Wannon a marginal seat, coming within four per cent of winning.
“As the Independent MP for Wannon I will work hard with our communities and whoever forms government to secure a better deal for our local roads, services and infrastructure.
“This time, we can win.”
