Knights celebrate talent and hard work

COBDEN Cricket Club had not one, but two Cricketers of the Year for 2021/22, with Simon Murfett and Johno Benallack sharing the honours at the Knights’ presentation day on Sunday.

COBDEN Cricket Club had not one, but two Cricketers of the Year for 2021/22, with Simon Murfett and Johno Benallack sharing the honours at the Knights’ presentation day on Sunday.

Benallack also took out the batting aggregate and average, while Murfett received the captain’s award alongside Paul Pekin.

Jackson Rock’s work with the ball was rewarded with the best bowling aggregate and average, while Matthew Kemp and Stephen Benallack both received coaches’ awards for their efforts throughout the season.

In division two, Michael Pegg was named Cricketer of the Year, and also won the best bowling aggregate, while Josh Hickey won the bowling average and batting aggregate.

Jack Hutt took out the batting aggregate award, and Ash Rosolin won the captain’s trophy.

Division three winners were Grady Rooke (Cricketer of the Year and captain’s trophy), Luke Hickey (batting aggregate and average) and Louis Robertson (bowling aggregate and average).

Stalwart of the club Peter Rock was named Best Club Person and received the Knights Honour Award.
