Knights set for finals
WITH just one round remaining of the South West home and away cricket season, the Cobden Knights look set for a finals appearance.

The Knights are currently sitting in fourth spot on the division one ladder, six points clear of Boorcan in fifth and only two points behind the third-placed Heytesbury Storm.
In cool conditions at Cobden last Saturday, the Knights chalked up win number seven for the season when they defeated visitors, Camperdown.
The Lakers won the toss and elected to bat and reached 10/143 in the 33rd over.
Opener Jye McLaughlin led the charge, making a quick-fired 58 from 55 deliveries which included eight boundaries.
He was well supported by middle order batsman Noah Riches who made 35 from 37 and Harry Sumner who added 19 to the board which included three boundaries.
Cobden was well served by the bowling of Matthew Harkin who took 3/4 from just over three overs, Darcy Meade (3/12 off six) and Parker Walsh 2/27 from six.
Other wickets fell for Simon Murfett 1/71 off 10 and Angus Uwland 1/26 off seven.
In reply, the Knights surpassed the total in the 37th over, reaching 4/145.
Vice-captain Matthew Kemp made a big impression with the bat, hitting 60 from 84 deliveries (including three boundaries) before being bowled by James O’Neil.
Other contributors to the board included Jonty Robertson (25), Matthew Boyle (15), Campbell Walsh (15no) and Johno Benallack (8).
The Knights will host bottom-of-the-ladder Woorndoo for the final round this Saturday.
Cobden’s division two side is enjoying a successful 2024/25 campaign and sits on the top of the ladder with 10 wins on the board.
