Playing at its home ground for the first time this season, the Knights took the opportunity to unveil the flag last Saturday.

The honour went to life member Jim Dalziel (affectionately known as ‘Pockets’), who was joined by current club president Matt Hanks and captain Johno Benallack.

“Pockets is a staunch supporter of our club so it was only fitting that he had the honour of unveiling the flag,” club president Matt Hanks said.

“Up until two years ago we hadn’t won a division one flag in 20 years and now we’ve won two in a row (after defeating Pomborneit in the 2024/25 grand final).

“We’re not ruling out a threepeat either – we’ve retained all our playing list from last season, and added even more depth with the inclusion of the likes of Lachie Boyle and Jamaican Brandon Goodall so we’re giving ourselves the best chance.

“We’re currently sitting on top of the ladder but we’re yet to face some of Colac’s top sides.”

Cobden will take on Pomborneit this Saturday in what will be a re-match from last season’s grand final.

“We’re looking forward to this weekend’s game to see how we’re placed. The division one side is playing some really good cricket at the moment so the signs are positive.”
