Ladies enjoy pairs aggregate

SEVENTEEN players enjoyed a stableford and the ladies’ Frank Hodgson Pairs Aggregate at Cobden golf last week.

The second round of the competition was played in good spirits, with Alex Holster winning A grade on 40 points, followed by Chloe Healey on 36.

B grade was won by Sue Couch on 39 points, followed by Pat Tickner on 34.

Nearest the pins: A grade – 10th Chloe Healey; B grade – 4th Jeannine White; C grade – 4th Ev Boyd and 10th Di Bennett; gents – 4th Alex Holster.

Nearest on the 7th was Chloe Healey while balls down the line went to Janine Stevens on 34 points, and Ellen Darcy, Carmel Darcy and Rhonda Alexander all on 33.

The winners of the Frank Hodgson Aggregate Pairs were Carmel Darcy and Di McKenzie.

Thirty-five players competed in a privilege pot (stableford) round last Saturday.

S. Dawson was the winner of A grade on 39 points, followed by C. Sargeant on 38.

B grade was won by R. Ponting on 40 points, with U. Twynstra the runner-up on 40.

Nearest the pins: 4th I. Rochfort, 7th S. Dawson, 10th H. Green, closest second on the 2nd A. Stevens and closest on the 14th L. Robertson.

The privilege pot was won by R. Ponting with 40 points.

Balls down the line: D. Lamb, G. Birnie, R. Barlow, J. Walker and I. Rochfort.

This Friday, April 18, will be the Royal Children’s Hospital appeal day.

A two-person ambrose – 9.30am for a 10am shotgun start.

A $10 entry fee per player will go towards the hospital appeal.

Easter Saturday will be a stableford competition.
