Lake gets welcome top up
ANGLERS were given a boost to their fishing options at Lake Purrumbete last week.
Members of the Lake Purrumbete Angling Club were on hand to help release thousands of fish at the lake.
ANGLERS were given a boost to their fishing options at Lake Purrumbete last week.
Fisheries delivered a top-up of 4000 rainbow trout and 375 tiger trout to the popular fishing spot last Thursday.
Lake Purrumbete Angling Club president Stephen Hill was pleased with the stocking.
“The tiger trout have been very good to fish,” he said.
“Different species help draw people tothe lake."
“It’s been a good drawcard.”
Member of the angling club were on hand to help release the fish into the water.
Mr Hill said fishing at Lake Purrumbete was “good at the moment”.
“Red fin have been very good and the trout are getting bigger as the weather is getting better,” he said.
The release saw a mixture of Tiger Trout and Rainbow Trout released.
