Libraries set to help readers get online

JUST about all human knowledge is online but that’s no use if you can’t get to it.

Corangamite Moyne Library Services (CMLS) staff are ready and able to help during ‘Get Online Week’.

Corangamite Shire Council chief executive officer David Rae has encouraged keen readers, who haven’t yet made the move online, to drop in for free friendly help from their local library team.

“You can read books and magazines, listen to audio books and music, watch movies and much more with your library card,” he said.

“Bring your device—whether it’s a phone, tablet or laptop—and the library staff can show you where to find what you’re looking for.”

Some people might need to learn more about the technology before they can comfortably browse library content.

For them, CMLS are also running Tech Help drop-in sessions.

“Drop in with your device for help with everyday online questions, downloading an app, accessing news, music or podcasts, and connecting with family and friends on video calls,” Mr Rae said.

For more information, community members can drop into their local library or go to https://www.cmlibraries.com.au

“If they’re not online, then they are the people these sessions are designed for,” Mr Rae said.

“They can call council on 5593 7100 for the phone number and opening hours of their local branch.”
