PETERBOROUGH locals are being asked to consider helping to make the local beach safer for swimmers this summer.

Port Campbell Surf Life Saving Club (PCSLSC) captain Darcy Tribe said an information session will be held next month about having an outpost patrol at Peterborough.

“We are looking for a minimum of 12 new volunteers to help launch a new outpost patrol at Peterborough main beach this summer,”he said.

“The proposed patrol dates are on weekends and public holidays from December 26, 2022 until January 26, 2023.”

Mr Tribe said he hopes the community will get involved in the proposed outreach patrol.

“The surf club is looking to reduce call out times down the coast to an incident while providing a patrol for the Peterborough community,” he said.
