Lions win at showgrounds
THE Corangamite Lions have celebrated their inaugural division one men’s game at the Camperdown Showgrounds with a thumping 6-0 win over Maryborough in a rare Saturday game.

The venue has had the cricket pitch removed and been re-seeded in preparation for the Lions tenancy, though the club will retain Scotts Creek, with its lights, as a training venue.
Paddy Healy had the honour of scoring the first division one goal at the showgrounds in the 11th minute.
Tom Gillert scored three minutes later, with Matthew Lyne finding the back of the net in the 34th minute.
Gillert scored again in the 41st and 49th minutes to register his hat-trick.
Lyne made it a brace, scoring the Lions final goal in the 50th minute.
Corangamite remain in sixth place on the ladder, one point behind fifth-placed Victoria Park.
The Lions women’s team had the bye.
Corangamite scored a fifth win in the division two men’s competition with a 5-2 victory.
Roman Fachetti opened the scoring in the second minute, while Jordan Footman scored two goals as did Guy Faber (both 46th minute goals) in the win.
Maryborough’s goals came in the 45th and 73rd wicket.
The under 12 Lions had a 3-0 loss to Ballarat North United, also at the showgrounds.
