Lis’, Derri’ raise cups
RESIDENTS in Lismore and Derrinallum raised their mugs, and a noteworthy sum, at its Biggest Morning Tea event recently.
The morning tea, held on Saturday, May 18 at the Wooltrack Store, raised $1297 for Cancer Council.
Organiser Sandy Gibson said she was pleased with the turnout.
“We had about 30 Lismore/Derrinallum people in attendance,” she said.
“A lovely home cooked morning tea was enjoyed by all.
“Lots of fun, competitions and laughter and stories were shared.
“We also remembered some of our cancer survivors and some not so lucky.”
Competitions held on the day included attendees bringing in their special mugs and sharing the story behind the mugs.
Ms Gibson extended her gratitude to attendees for the stories, as well as all who contributed to the final tally.
“Thank you to locals who so generously supported with anonymous donations and the volunteers who assisted on the morning,” she said.
“Special thanks to the Lismore, Derrinallum and District Lions Club for their donation of $200.
“Thank you to the local Lismore businesses – Beleaf, Blue Yabby and Wooltrack Store for their donations towards the raffle and competitions.
“Every dollar raised helps support those impacted by cancer.”
