Little athletics gets underway
LITTLE athletics got underway in Camperdown last Friday afternoon.

LITTLE athletics got underway in Camperdown last Friday afternoon.
The expected rain held off until the last few events, giving athletes a great start to their new season.
All athletes, new and returning, did their best, had fun and made new friends.
The parents and age group managers all did a great job organizing groups and helping out where needed.
Parental help is an integral part of competition nights and even the simplest of support can make a night easier to run for all attendees.
With a massive increase in paid registrations and trialing athletes, this year sees athlete numbers set at the highest in almost 20 years – with 150 combined registrations prior to October 7.
The committee extends its thanks to everyone who attended last Friday night for their patience and understanding while the formalities were completed and the night got underway.
The committee has put in many hours to ensure the centre was ready for opening night.
A special thank you to Steve Sinnott for marking the track, Kathy Hallyburton for her countless hours and Kristy Clarke (president) for her behind-the-scenes efforts in the lead-up to week one.
Congratulations to all athletes who took part.
Registrations are still open for those wishing to have a two-week trial – simply head to the LAVic website or contact Kristy on 0408 584 044.
