Margaret Toulmin is 103 years old but is still going out and about to events such as last Wednesday’s Legacy luncheon.

She said she had lots of favourite memories over the course of her life.

“I was born in Lismore and brought home in a buggy pulled by two horses into a house that I lived in until my son’s wife died,” Ms Toulmin said.

“I then went to live with him.

“I used to go to everything in Foxhow – I played tennis, I played bowls, and I played basketball all through my life. I love my bowls.

“I was there when it opened, and I’m still a member but I can’t play anymore.”

Ms Toulmin has led a busy life – from looking after her blind mother, to milking cattle on the farm, to raising her four children.

She said she didn’t know what the secret was to her long life but believes her hard work has contributed to it.

“You don’t feel any different. Life just goes on,” Ms Toulmin said.
