Loss for division one
ROUND 13 of weekend bowls pennant saw Mortlake 1 Blue (division one) go down to Koroit.
Mortlake 1 Blue lost to Koroit 1 Saints at home.
Darren Grant lost to Michael Funcke 13-28; Les Johnson drew Damian Clifford 22 all; George Draffen lost to Scott Boschen 13-23.
Mortlake Blue has dropped to seventh place and must win their last match to have a very slim chance to make finals, dependent on other results.
Mortlake 2 White (div. 2) def. Warrnambool 3 Red 70-46 (away).
Paul Delaney def. Roger Hill 23-22; Richard Draffen def. Dale Barclay 28-8; Colin Inverarity def. Jell Woolley 19-16
Mortlake White is in fourth place and has secured its place in the finals, with more than a win ahead of fifth place Warrnambool Green.
Mortlake 3 Gold (div. 4) def. City 10 Black (home).
Don Murray def. Malcolm Trompf 15-10; Max Heard def. John van Baaren 25-8.
Mortlake Gold is now in fourth place, one point ahead of fifth place City 9 Orange.
Mortlake Gold has the bye next week and will have an anxious wait when City 9 Orange play top of the table Warrnambool 6 Orange.

Mortlake Purple finished the season in fifth place, sixth points behind fourth place City 8 Jade.
Last we checked in with the Tuesday social pennant, Mortlake White was top of the table over Mortlake Blue and a bit of momentum was building.

Mortlake White is still top of the table with Mortlake Blue four points behind in second place.

Congratulations to both top of the table Mortlake White and second place Mortlake Blue on a commanding home and away season.
Next week, the players of Tuesday social pennant come together to play in a round-robin day at Mortlake.

The Les Risk Day scheduled for last Sunday was postponed due to excessive heat and will hopefully be back in March.

Mortlake will hold a two bowl mixed triples tournament on Valentines Day 2025 – Friday, February 14; 1p start five games of six ends (four games plusm a bye).
Cost is $30/team with afternoon tea included.
There must be one lady or man per team and bowls attire is to be worn.
Members – please bring a plate of afternoon tea.
Mens Pairs rounds one and two start this Sunday at 9.30am so if you have entered, check the draw sheet inside the clubrooms next to the bar.
Don’t forget that the men’s B grade semi and grand final will play out on Sunday, February 16 so come along and watch all the live bowls action.
