Loss for Storm juniors

THE heat cancellation saw all four of Heytesbury-Princetown’s senior cricket teams have their matches abandoned on Saturday.


This week sees a full slate of matches for the Storm on Saturday.

In the Colac-South West premier competition, the Storm head to Colac to play Irrewarra at the Colac Secondary College Oval.

In division two, Storm Blue play Bookaar at Frederick St, with Storm Purple hosting Ecklin at the Timboon Recreation Reserve.

In division three, second placed Heytesbury-Princetown host top of the ladder Pomborneit Gold.

On Sunday, the Storm’s under 16 team had a 100 run loss to Pomborneit at Pomborneit.

The home team batted first and were dismissed in the 33rd over for 163.

Co-captain Cooper Doolan took two wickets in his first spell with the new ball and one later on, the left arm seamer finishing with 3/30 from five overs.

Most impressive for the Storm was Oscar Uebergang, who generated good pace from his short run up and claimed 3/10 from four overs, at one stage being on a hat-trick.

The run chase started disastrously for the Storm, losing a wicket first ball of the innings and crashing to 6/20.

Cooper Doolan offered some resistance, making 20 not out from 29 balls, including a big six over mid-wicket, as the visitors battled to 63 all out, dismissed in the 21st over.

In this week’s junior games, the Storm’s under 16s host Bookaar at Timboon on Sunday, with the under 13 Storm playing their first game for 2026 on Monday night against Camperdown at the Camperdown number two oval.
