TERANG Mortlake’s senior side now sits fifth on the Hampden League ladder following last weekend’s 90-point loss to the Roosters.

South Warrnambool, who sit comfortably at the top of the ladder three games clear of reigning premiers Koroit, went on a kicking spree at Friendlies on Saturday, booting home 19.17.131 while containing the visitors to 6.5.41.

The loss puts the Bloods fifth, half a game behind the fourth-placed Cobden Bombers and just a game and a half ahead of Port Fairy with three rounds remaining.

Samuel Crawley, Joe Arundell, Ryan Tanner, Ben Reid, Samuel McLean and Ryley Hutchins were among the best for the Bloods while Will Kain kicked three goals for the day and Joe Arundell, Matthew Baxter and Wade Rosas each contributed a goal.

The Bloods should stay in the top five as their run home sees them face Warrnambool this weekend before taking on Koroit in round 17 and finishing the home and away season at home to Hamilton.

Terang Mortlake’s reserves sit fourth on their ladder and also went down to South Warrnambool last weekend.

Final scores were South Warrnambool 13.12.90 to Terang Mortlake 0.2.2.

Earlier in the day, the Bloods’ under 18.5s went down to the Roosters, 1.3.9 to 17.11.113.

Tyler Vickers, Tyson Royal, Mitchell Hughes, Darcy Abbott, Damien Goddard and Hamish Hobbs were named best for the Bloods.
