Low rainfall across region

THE reprieve of recent heavy rain did not last long after the rainfall result for July was well below average.

Just 79.2mm of rain was recorded to have hit the ground in Cobden throughout July.

The result was well below the 92.3mm long-term average result over the same period.

The result marks the sixth month throughout 2025 where rain has fallen below the long-term average – with June being the only outlier.

The highest daily rainfall occurred on July 27 when 10mm of rain was recorded to have fallen.

The result is a break from the consistent rainfall experienced in July 2024 when the result of 91.9mm fell narrowly below the long-term average.

The result for July brings the total rainfall experienced over Cobden to 318mm, well below the long-term average of 451.4mm over the same period.
