BELOW average rainfall throughout October was a welcome change after widespread flooding marred Victoria during the same month last year.
In Terang 38.4mm of rain was recorded during October, falling well below the long-term average of 71.3mm.
The highest daily total was recorded on October 16, with 8mm hitting the ground.
The result stands in stark contrast to October 2022 when 131.2mm of rain hit the ground.
The result brings the 2023 tally for Terang to 547.8mm, falling well below the 667.8mm long-term average over the same period.
Meanwhile in Mortlake the dry conditions continued with 47.4mm hitting the ground throughout October.
The highest daily rainfall occurred on October 16 when 7.8mm hit the ground.
The monthly total falls almost 100mm below the result recorded in October 2022, when 146.8mm of rain hit the ground.
The total through the first 10 months of 2023 has reached 473.8mm, below the long-term average of 498mm over the same period.
