FRASER Lucas took home a swagof awards from the South West Cricket Association (SWCA) presentation night on Monday, including the coveted Cricketer of the Year award.
The Bookaar all-rounder earned 17 votes through the season, three more than runner-up Will Kain of Mortlake.
Lucas also won the Terang and District Co-op My Cricket Player of the Year award, the bowling aggregate with 28 wickets, and was named captain of the association’s Team of the Year.
Woorndoo’s Tyler Schafer won the batting aggregate with 494 runs, 11 more than Lucas’ 483, while Mortlake’s Jack Lehmann received the division one Rising Star award.
Lucas, who has previously won the My Cricketer, batting and bowling awards, and been named in the Team of the Year, said being named Cricketer of the Year and captain of the division’s best team was gratifying.
“I’m pretty happy in terms of the individual awards to have performed as well as I did,” he said.
“It isn’t something you go in expecting to win, but I probably thought I’d be up there on the back of the season I had.
“I’ve had a good year, and to end up with those awards is quite rewarding for some of the performances I’ve produced for the season.”
