Magpies celebrate club awards

Camperdown Golf Magpies Bowls Club held its 2022 presentation dinner last Sunday, hosting 60 bowlers and partners.

Camperdown Golf Magpies Bowls Club held its 2022 presentation dinner last Sunday, hosting 60 bowlers and partners.

The inaugural presentation of the Max Johnson Perpetual Trophy for the best club person of the year was a highlight of the day, with the award presented by Max’s widow Barbara and daughter Mandy to John O’Donohue for his work around the club.

The club now looks forward to its annual meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, May 18 at 7.30pm in the clubrooms.

Camperdown Golf Bowls Club major award winners:

Ladies’ 100-Up champion – Noelene Tolland.

Men’s 100-Up champion – Kevin Conheady.

Ladies’ President’s Handicap winner – Elaine Waterfall.

Men’s President’s Handicap winner – David Bateman.

Ladies’ pairs champions – Ilma Daws and Elizabeth Riches.

Men’s pairs champions –Peter Hindhaugh and Glenn Winsall.

Mixed pairs champions – Barbara Boyd and Glenn Winsall.

Ladies’ B grade champion – Janet Molan.

Men’s B grade champion – Jack Paasse.

Ladies’ singles champion – Rene Wyles.

Men’s singles champion – Michael Brebner.

Over 80 badge – Coralene Gilligan.

8-shot badge – Ray Bateman, Kevin Conheady, Graeme Fitzgerald and John Molan.
